FAIR Data Station
A web application for creating, validating and managing research metadata using the ISA framework, turning it into FAIR RDF linked data ready for reuse and submission to public repositories.

Description
The FAIR Data Station helps researchers record rich, structured metadata right from the start of a project. It is built on the ISA metadata model (Investigation, Study, Observation Unit, Sample, Assay). Metadata is captured in Excel templates made with the Metadata Configurator, which draws on community standards such as the ENA and MIxS checklists.
The Station checks uploaded metadata against these templates and converts valid metadata into RDF linked data, which can drive automated downstream analysis. It can also:
- generate ENA submission files and import existing BioProjects from ENA
- connect to iRODS/Yoda for data management
- offer a searchable overview of the metadata terms it uses
- provide a REST API for use in pipelines
The FAIR Data Station is open source and developed at Wageningen University & Research as part of FAIR by Design.
