Description

CRediT Matrix helps authors write CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) statements. You add contributors by hand, from an ORCID iD or a DOI (Crossref, DataCite), or import a CSV, JSON, JATS or tenzing file. Then you assign the 14 roles in a grid, and the app writes the statement. It exports JATS4R XML, CSV, JSON, Markdown, and an SVG or PNG heatmap. CI checks the JATS export against the JATS 1.3 DTD and the JATS4R Schematron rules.

Co-authors can answer on their phone and send their answers back. A Review tab shows where they differ from your draft, and you choose what to keep. Nothing is stored on a server. The app works offline, comes in nine languages, and aims for WCAG 2.2 AA (see the accessibility statement under About).

The same logic is on npm as a TypeScript package and command line tool (npx credit-matrix statement team.csv). The repo also has a Quarto extension and a MyST plugin that write the statement from a document's front matter, and a JATS conformance suite.
