EVERSE aims to become the premier destination for researchers across Europe seeking to improve their skills in developing high-quality analysis code, prototype tools, and research software infrastructure. Through our comprehensive training programs, expert mentorship, and collaborative networks, we seek to enable researchers to create and maintain software that is FAIR, robust, reliable, and scalable by providing a common
reference framework while also enabling the assessment of software quality across community-backed standards and metrics. This reference framework will bring together existing efforts and initiatives across scientific disciplines, with a primary focus in EOSC, in order to identify commonalities and recognize complementarities, mapping the respective needs of the various communities across the common framework.

We also aim to advance the recognition of software development and scientific computing as first-class activities in the scientific community, and to serve as a leading advocate for the importance of research software, that encompasses high-quality analysis code, prototype tools, and research software infrastructure, in driving scientific discovery and innovation. We strive to facilitate cross-fertilization across scientific communities by fostering collaborative networks and promoting the sharing of knowledge and resources. In addition, we are committed to public engagement, outreach, and dissemination of our activities and the importance of research software in driving scientific discovery and innovation. Together, these efforts will position (EVERSE) as a leader in promoting excellence in research software and scientific computing, and advancing the recognition of these activities as first-class pursuits within the scientific community.
