Carbon Budget Explorer (CABE)
Web application to visualize countries' carbon emission pathways under various views on fairness.
CABE
The Carbon Budget Explorer is an online tool to explore emission reduction targets per country based on their choice of "what is fair".
The user first sets a global reduction target. Subsequently, the map view shows what this global target means for individual countries under different effort-sharing principles.
The explorer was developed in a small pilot project between the eScience Center and the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL). The underlying data and scientific methods have been developed by PBL in the context of the ECEMF project.
This page covers two externally financed projects, CABE - Carbon Budget Explorer (033.023.007) and followup CABE2 (033.024.014), both funded by Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency.
