Scientific Experimentation for Computational Social Science
SOCYVIA is an open-source research software environment designed to support experimental workflows in computational social science.
It brings study design, experimental content, participants, conditions, questionnaires, participant-facing experiences, behavioral data collection, analysis, and research outputs into a connected and traceable workflow.
Research workflow
SOCYVIA supports researchers in moving from a research question and experimental design to structured participant sessions and analyzable behavioral data. Studies can be organized around groups and conditions, with experimental content and questionnaires integrated into the participant experience.
Behavioral events generated during experimental sessions can be recorded as structured research data and connected to the corresponding study, condition, participant, and session.
Local and remote experimentation
Research studies can be designed and prepared locally. SOCYVIA also supports remote experimental workflows in which researchers can publish participant experiences and synchronize research data through researcher-connected infrastructure.
Analysis and reproducibility
SOCYVIA is designed around traceability and reproducible research workflows. Experimental configuration, participant sessions, behavioral events, questionnaires, and resulting data remain connected throughout the research process.
Open research software
SOCYVIA is open-source software distributed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (AGPL-3.0-or-later).
The project is developed as an independent research software initiative by Abdellah RIAD.
